If you have never been to a DockDogs National Championship, you don't know what you are missing!
The event is an amazing display of DockDogs culture! Decorated tents (for the Club Challenge), decorated dogs ("war paint" and speed suits as well as Halloween costumes), pom-poms, flags, banners and let's not forget COWBELLS - all contributed to the festival atmosphere in DogTown! The weather was beautiful and sunny all three days to help our dogs jump big. Dubuque was a wonderful host city and we enjoyed visiting the Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium and taking a cruise on an authentic riverboat! Friday night we enjoyed bowling as part of the Club Challenge and our team of Van, Jon, David, Ken and Clarke WON the tournament! And on Saturday our club won the DogTown Theme Tent challenge with our mountain cabin decor (we think the Campfire-in-a-can is what secured our victory!). Saturday night's banquet brought more cheers to our club as our own Heather Ratynski won the award for Sportsperson of the Year! On the final day of competition - Jon, Clarke, Rich and Sue all came away with Champion ribbons! Congrats to all! We will see you there again next year!
